Whitbread Maxi The Card

The Card, skippered by Roger Nilson, was the Swedish entry in the 1989–90 Whitbread Round the World Race. Another Farr-designed maxi in the most competitive edition of the event, she represented Sweden’s growing presence in international offshore racing.

The 1989–90 Whitbread saw Farr designs occupy multiple top positions across the fleet — The Card, Steinlager II, Fisher & Paykel, and Merit Cup all sharing the same pedigree and the same naval architects in Annapolis.
