FARR 40 One Design

40’ | One-Design Grand Prix | 1996
International One-Design Class — 150+ Boats, 19+ Nations

The Farr 40 One-Design is one of the most successful Grand Prix racing classes ever created. Over 150 boats have been built since the class’s inception in 1996, with fleets racing on every ocean and in at least 19 countries. The class combines competitive one-design racing with a professional owner-driver format that keeps the helm in the hands of the paying customer, with a professional crew limited by class rules.

The international Farr 40 circuit includes regattas across the United States, Australia, Italy, Germany, and beyond. The class’s longevity — still actively raced nearly three decades after the first hull was launched — reflects the quality of the original Farr design and the strength of the class association. For a full specifications breakdown, see the Farr 40 design page.
