Beneteau First 40.7

40’ | Production Racer | 1997
Beneteau / Farr Partnership — 700+ Boats Built · Class One-Design Racing

The Beneteau First 40.7 is one of the most successful production racing yachts of the modern era. Designed by Farr Yacht Design and produced by Beneteau in France from 1997 through 2008, over 700 hulls were built — making it one of the best-selling performance yachts in the 40-foot range ever produced. Many are still actively raced today, both in IRC mixed fleets and in dedicated First 40.7 class events.

The 40.7 combined Farr’s performance credentials with Beneteau’s production expertise to produce a boat that was genuinely fast at an accessible price. Its success helped establish the Farr–Beneteau partnership as one of the defining collaborations in performance production sailing of the 1990s and 2000s. The boat’s racing pedigree includes strong results at Cowes Week, the RORC offshore series, and national IRC championships across Europe and North America.
