Design #641, the ORC GP42 was a purpose-built grand prix racer for the ORC measurement rule. ORC’s more complex stability and performance calculations rewarded refined hull forms — exactly the kind of optimisation Farr excelled at — and the GP42 class attracted committed racing programs across Europe as an alternative grand prix pathway to the TP52 circuit.
